Form 5 Students Back-to-Back Wins in June English Competitions
TNUSS Form 5 students are ending June on a high note, with two remarkable victories in prestigious English speech competitions.
Ayu Watanabe Takes the Grand Prix
On June 7, 2026, Ayu Watanabe claimed 1st place (Grand Prix) in the General Division for Senior High School at the EF Global English Speech Contest, held in Shibuya, Tokyo. Delivering a heartfelt and confident speech, Watanabe impressed judges and earned the top spot among her peers. In addition to a trophy and certificate, she was awarded a fully paid, one-week study trip to Singapore. This is a well-deserved recognition of her hard work and talent.

Asuka Kawada Shines in Her Debut
Just one week later, on June 12, 2026, Asuka Kawada represented TNUSS at the 63rd Ibaraki Senior High School International Speech Contest in Mito City, Ibaraki. Competing against 18 contestants, Kawada delivered a passionate and timely speech titled "One Small Choice," which tackled the pressing issues of child labor and human rights. Her confident delivery earned her 3rd place which is a remarkable achievement for a first-time competitor.
Both Watanabe and Kawada credit their success to dedicated preparation and the guidance of their English Communication teacher, Miss Ania Gonzalez. Their achievements are a testament to what focused effort, passion, and great coaching can accomplish.
Congratulations to Ayu and Asuka! Your entire TNUSS family is proud of you!
